Kids tell it like it is — especially when it comes to the things that truly matter.
After Stacey Dash called for an end to Black History Month, Because Of Them We Can, a campaign to help young children connect with African American success stories, asked a group of children to express their feelings about her proposed cancelation.
Well, they didn't like it. Here's a sampling of their responses:
"What did she just say?"
"Is that even legal?"
"That don't make any sense!"
"Does Kanye West know about this?"
"Black History Month is our time... to acknowledge our strength, our accomplishments and our contributions and our beauty!"
Claps for these amazing kiddos. In case you missed it, Dash — who is of Mexican and African American descent — came under fire last month when she told Fox News that she believes Black History Month and the BET Awards should be canceled. "Either we want to have segregation or integration," the 49-year-old actress said. "And if we don't wnat segregation then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you're black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It's a double standard."
